Das unter Ludwig XIII. Erbaute Château de Pennautier ist seit 1620 ein Familienbesitz und wurde 1670 von Le Vau, dem Architekten des Château de Versailles, erweitert. Gleichzeitig entwarf der berühmte Landschaftsgestalter Le Nôtre dort einen riesigen Park im französischen Stil. Das von der Geschichte des Languedoc geprägte Schloss ist als historisches Denkmal eingestuft. Bereits 1701 finden wir Spuren der Weine von Pennautier, die am Tisch der Offiziere des Königs in Versailles serviert werden. Seit 1960 wurde der Weinberg komplett renoviert und auf hochgelegenen Grundstücken wieder zusammengesetzt. Nicolas de Lorgeril, direkter Erbe der Familie Pennautier, ist die 10. Generation von Winzern seit der Gründung des Weinguts, das er 1987 übernahm. Das Weingut umfasst heute 182 Hektar Rebfläche.
