Château de Fonbel Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

A very old vineyard, Château de Fonbel is one of the three properties owned by the Vauthier family, along with Ausone and Moulin St Georges. It is managed by Alain Vauthier, assisted by his daughter Pauline, with the support of oenologist Gilles Pauquet. Depending on the vintage, some of the wines vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks are then aged in barrels to gain lightness, elegance, and flavor. The blend of Château de Fonbel wines remains around 85% Merlot, complemented by other grape varieties, suggesting a wide range of possibilities. Challengers by nature and benefiting from certain innovations before their illustrious neighbors, the wines of this estate express themselves through fruit, elegance, and subtlety, with tannins that are always very well integrated, making them easy to drink in their youth.
