Fixin AOP Red Wine - Burgundy

Frédéric represents the fifth generation of winemakers in the Magnien family. Practicing biodynamic viticulture on the family estate, Frédéric established his own wine merchant business in 1995. Not owning the vineyards, he plays a crucial advisory role with his partner winemakers, with whom he collaborates throughout the year. This allows him to select plots and purchase exceptionally high-quality grapes. Located between Marsannay and Gevrey-Chambertin, Fixin (pronounced Fissin) lies in the northern part of the Côte de Nuits.

Winemaking
Hand-harvested, rigorously sorted grapes. No crushing; whole bunches are gravity-fed into the vats. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts. Extraction is achieved through manual punch-downs. Aged in oak barrels.

Tasting Notes
Intense ruby color. A rich, fruity nose with hints of vanilla. The palate is juicy, with structure, freshness, and silky tannins, offering notes of raspberries, cherries, and other red berries.

Serving suggestion: Serve at around 16°C (61°F), with meats in sauce, rabbit stew, ribeye steak with red wine sauce, beef bourguignon, beef cheek stew, or coq au vin.

Grape variety: Pinot Noir
Supple and velvety
Alcohol: 13%
