Maderot belongs to the Lévêque family. It is made from vines averaging 25 years old and takes its name from a plot located behind the Château de Chantegrive. It covers nearly 12 hectares. As at Chantegrive, the terroir consists of sand and rolled gravel, facing due south. Also as at Chantegrive, its winemaking benefits from the expert guidance of Hubert de Boüard, oenologist and owner of Château Angelus.

Tasting Notes: This wine presents a beautiful, bright ruby color of considerable intensity. Its charming nose exudes aromas of black fruit, crushed berries, and peppery notes. Crisp, fruity, and full-bodied, its attack on the palate is rounded and enhanced by a lovely persistence.
Serving suggestion
Served at 14-16°C, it pairs well with a fine piece of beef grilled over vine shoots, a truffle potato gratin, red mullet with mild spices, capon, or chicken. It also goes well with red mullet with mild spices or cheeses such as Comté.
