Presentation:
A magnificent hillside of gravel in the heart of the Saint-Estèphe terroir, this land “in medio aquaue” (in the middle of the waters), mysterious and fascinating, planted with the finest and noblest grape varieties… Such is the cradle of Château Haut Baradieu. It is also the story of an old Médoc family which gradually, over the generations, built up this estate. As early as 1678, old parchments mention a certain “Anney”, a plowman in the commune of Potensac in the Médoc. In 1876, his descendant Pierre began the adventure in Saint-Estèphe by buying a small wine estate called “Villa Ossian” which would later become Château Haut Baradieu.
