Terroir and Winemaking

Nestled in the northern reaches of the Beaujolais region, the Juliénas appellation boasts granite-rich soils, sloping hillsides, and a microclimate perfectly suited to the Gamay grape. Our winemakers practice sustainable viticulture, hand-harvesting ripe, healthy clusters to preserve fruit purity and express the unique characteristics of each vineyard site.

Tasting Notes

Les Capitans Juliénas offers an enticing bouquet of wild strawberries, red cherries, and violets, underscored by hints of spice and earthy minerality. On the palate, vibrant acidity and silky tannins unfold flavors of raspberries, rose petals, and subtle baking spices, leading to a long, elegant finish.

Food Pairing

This versatile red pairs beautifully with charcuterie platters, herb-roasted poultry, grilled pork tenderloin, and soft cheeses like Brie or Camembert. Serve slightly chilled at 14–16 °C to highlight its freshness and aromatic charm.

Juliénas is one of the 10 crus of Beaujolais, it is located in the far north of the vineyard on the edge of Mâconnais. This wine is selected on a specific terroir of the appellation, one of the 4 climates of the cru: Les Capitans. The vines are located on granitic sand soils, with a beautiful exposure, resulting in rich, ripe and elegant wines.
