Produced for the first time in 1985, this Madiran 100% Tannat shook the world by surpassing the first great French wines in many tastings, thus putting this local grape variety at the forefront. The Prestige cuvée from Château Montus comes from the selection of the best terroirs of the vineyard and represents the best that Tannat can give. It is also almost entirely sold en primeur.

Winemaking and Aging
Maceration of 3 to 6 weeks.
Fermentation at 28°C in wooden vats.
Pigeage, malolactic fermentation in new barrels on lees.
Aging in new barrels (100%) for 14 to 16 months.
An atypical, generous character, amplitude of elements, depth, discreet and complex fruit. Rich and opulent wine.
Some years, balsamic, chimney tar, cocoa, highly sought after by cigar lovers.
