Château Prieuré Lichine |
Vineyard: |
The Prieuré-Lichine vineyard, created in the 12th century by the Benedictine monks or Prieurs de Cantenac, stood out from 1444. In 1745 it was classified 3rd growth of the Parishes of Margaux and Cantenac, then it was promoted to 4th Grand Cru Classé in 1855. The Château, owned by the Ballande group, continues its history today by perpetuating the virtues of its terroir and by promoting its expression as best as possible. The 77.5 ha vineyard is located on the Garonne gravel of Günz, with vines that are on average 30 years old |

Tasting: |
Dark purple color. This wine offers notes of black fruits, sweet spices and coffee. The bouquet is generally delicate, elegant and complex. The attack on the palate is generous, ample and well-balanced on fresh and sweet red fruits. The freshness is associated with the nobility of the tannins and the aromatic complexity of this gourmet but tense wine with a remarkable length. |
