A very pretty nose of acacia flowers develops under a slightly woody cover. Then we find in the mouth the breadth and fat typical of sweet wines which extends into a finish of candied and fresh fruits well assembled!

Château Rieussec

Château Rieussec

House
Château Rieussec was acquired by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) in 1984. To better express the potential of Château Rieussec, rigorous measures were put in place, including more meticulous grain sorting and fermentation in barrels, which allowed for a much finer selection when blending the great wine. A new winery was built to extend the barrel-aging period from the 1989 vintage. The quantity of grand vin was considerably reduced in the 1990s by more rigorous selection. From 2000, the renovation of the aging cellars, the construction of a fermentation cellar and the technological development of the reception and pressing room also made an additional contribution to the ongoing quality effort conducted since 1985.

Vineyard:
After a rather mild winter, bud burst was early and followed, in the first week of June, by uniform flowering favored by the rise in temperatures.
As always, the climatic conditions were at the center of the concerns of winegrowers and the teams worked throughout the year to bring to maturity a grape in perfect health. The veraison took place in two periods, at the end of July and then after August 15, which led to differences in maturity on the bunches of the same vine

Tasting:

The general impression remains quite airy and floral and should go perfectly with an exotic fruit sorbet, a lightly grilled lobster, or simply between friends at aperitif time.
