Vineyards: The vineyard is located 40 kilometers north of Châteauneuf-du-Pape at an altitude of about 300 meters, benefiting from a cool climate suited to Syrah. Les Hauts de Julien comes from a very old plot of vines (about 90 years old) co-planted with Syrah and Grenache. A blend of Syrah and Grenache still in barrel, it offers thrilling notes of smoky black fruits, peppery meats, graphite, and plenty of minerality to accompany a full-bodied, concentrated, and serious mouthfeel. It’s impressive in every way and may be the best Vinsobres I’ve ever tasted. I wouldn't be surprised to see this wine still drink brilliantly for 20 years. |
