The vineyards of Center-Loire extend over four departments: Nièvre, Cher, Indre and Loiret. The part located in the region of Bourges and Nevers can be considered as the kingdom of Sauvignon. There are mainly produced dry white wines from this grape variety, and in much smaller quantities, thus taking up an old practice, some red and rosé wines from Pinot noir or Gamay. Among the white wines of this region, the most famous are undoubtedly Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé. Light reds, fragrant, round and happy ... Subtle, delicate and beautifully colored rosés. But, it is obviously the whites that justify the worldwide reputation of this vineyard. Sancerre is known on all continents and no wine can be compared to it! It is somewhat the equivalent with the Sauvignon grape variety of what Chablis is with the Chardonnay grape: the greatest northern success!
